KIMBERLY JUNE: FULL BIO
-
Kimberly June (“KJ”) is an indie-folk-pop artist and songwriter with roots in many places, including Nashville, Maine, Hawai‘i, and Oregon. Known for her authentic, soul-centered stage presence, she captivates audiences with her clever, catchy songwriting, drawing from the raw, real stories of her life. At just 22, she signed her first publishing deal in Nashville, launching a career that has since taken her across the country and around the world.
KJ has performed at festivals across the country, including multiple appearances at Wanderlust Festival, other wellness-focused festivals, songwriter festivals in Annapolis, Hawai‘i, and Key West, and Northern Nights Music Festival in 2026. She has shared the stage with and supported artists including G. Love, Donovan Frankenreiter, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Satsang, Kimie, and Mike Love. In 2024, she toured as direct support for Nahko and Medicine for the People, performing in 15 major U.S. cities. Her brand endorsements include Kala, Cordoba, and QSC Audio, and her music has been featured on major TV shows including Nashville, Netflix’s Love Is Blind and The Ultimatum, ABC’s The Rookie, and Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Her songwriting has earned her finalist honors at the 2018 Hawaii Songwriter Festival for “Love and Be Loved,” where she shared the stage with Kenny Loggins, and runner-up honors in the 2026 Portland Folk Festival Song Contest for “Broken Computer.” Both accolades led to invitations to perform at their respective festivals. She is also a two-time American Songwriter Song Contest semifinalist (top 1%) for “When U Wake Up” (2024) and “Someone Who Gets Me” (2022), as well as a 2024 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) semifinalist for “Breadcrumbs.”
Originally from New England, KJ spent her formative years (ages 11–18) immersed in the vibrant culture of Santiago, Dominican Republic. As one of the few “gringas” attending an inner-city school throughout junior high and high school, she experienced an upbringing far from the typical American childhood—one that shaped her worldview, deepened her connection to different cultures, and ultimately influenced her voice as an artist. She later studied at Berklee College of Music and graduated from Belmont University.
Following her early years in Nashville, KJ spent 11 transformative years in Hawai‘i, stepping away from the traditional music industry while continuing to write and perform against the islands’ breathtaking backdrops. Those years became a profound journey of healing, self-discovery, and artistic growth, leaving her with deep gratitude for a place she will always call home.
Beyond music, KJ is a passionate advocate for health and wellness. She embraces an adventurous, nomadic lifestyle, touring the U.S. in her Sprinter van and sharing her journey along the way. For new music, tour updates, and adventures on the road, find her on Instagram: @JustKJ.Love.
